For Windows 8 and above

Its even easier with Windows OS 8 and above. The only down side is you cannot edit the image directly, you’ll need to save the screenshot and edit it later. Follow this step:

  1. Press Windows logo key and Print Screen button at the same time on keyboard.
  2. The screenshot will be saved in picture folder, under ‘screenshots’ sub-folder.

  3. Find the screenshot as a .png file on your desktop.

  2. Move the crosshair to where you want to start the screenshot, then drag to select an area.
  3. When you’ve selected the area you want, release your mouse or trackpad button. To cancel, press the Esc (Escape) key before you release the button.
  4. Find the screenshot as a .png file on your desktop.
